Ruthin Castle

Ruthin Castle, pen and watercolour study.

This original watercolour is now SOLD, however we are considering a small edition of prints. Visit the gallery or contact us to enquire.

We were lucky to be treated to afternoon tea here and loved our visit. It is a delightful place where we like to stop for drinks after a day out in North Wales. A lovely garden with peacocks on the walls and so much history to discover inside.

The first known castle on this site was created by Dafydd, brother of Prince Llewelyn ap Gruffydd, for King Edward I of England in 1277 who gave the castle to him in return for his treacherous help during the invasion of North Wales that year.

Julie’s original pen and watercolour sketches represent great value for those seeking original work at an affordable price. Frame size 21″ x 18 inches (53cm x 46cm)
